5 Reasons Why People Don't Attend Church
A things before we go further. Let’s firstly define the meaning of the word church. The word church is used in the New Testament (Grk: ecclesia), and is not referring to a building in which people frequent once a week, typically on a Sunday.
The church is a group of individuals who gather together (where ever, and when ever), to worship God, grow in their faith in Christ and partner with God in mission. (Acts 2)
When we refer to why people don’t go to church, it seems that we think most people might think of why people don’t enter a church building on a Sunday morning,.
With a correct view of what the ‘church’ is, this post should possibly be, ’5 reasons why people are not part of a church community’ That would certainly be a more appropriate title.
It is appears to be the message of the Apostle Paul in the Second letter to the Church at Corinth (2 Corinthians 3) to be prepared for change in regard to the message of the gospel. Often we find ourselves in routine and repetitious worship that we call Church. This is discouraging to others and to ourselves which often leads to people not being part of a local Church in the true since. This Sunday, hopefully we will explore ways to avoid such routine.
